Dialogue

Stan the Social Director
(Not seen)
Ladies, join our hair-raising wig show. Try your Sandra Dee, Jackie Kennedy or Elizabeth Taylor-Cleopatra wig.

(Max Kellerman and Jake Houseman are playing cards as Mr. Schumacher watches)

Max Kellerman
I'll knock with three.

Mr. Schumacher
Look at that cute fella.

Jake Houseman
Look at these hands. They're golden hands.

(Stan is watching Penny demonstrating wigs to female guests)

Stan the Social Director
My God, it's Cleopatra! I feel like such an "asp".

Penny Johnson
You look ten years younger.

Stan the Social Director
(Not seen)
At 10:15 by the pool, we have calisthenics. Then on the west porch, we have a symposium by Rabbi Maurice Sherman on the psychology of insult comedians.

(Robbie approaches Lisa)

Robbie Gould
(Imitating President John Kennedy's Boston accent) So I say, "Ask not what your waiter can do for you, but what you can do for your waiter."

If tips keep up, I'll have enough for my Alfa Romeo.

Lisa Houseman
That's my favorite car.

(Johnny approaches)

Johnny Castle
Ladies, you look very lovely.

Lisa Houseman
Baby, would you cover for me tonight? Tell Mom and Dad I went to lie down.

Baby Houseman
Where are you going?

Lisa Houseman
To the golf course. There's a pretty view from the first tee. Good. Thanks.

Baby Houseman
(Addressing Penny)
So you were really a Rockette? I think you're a wonderful dancer.

Penny Johnson
Yeah? Well, my mother kicked me out when I was 16. I've been dancing ever since. It's the only thing I ever wanted to do anyway.

Baby Houseman
I envy you.

  1. Wow, almost an eerie parallel to a later deleted scene when Baby talks to Lisa before going to the Sheldrake with Johnny.
